Luke Grainger

A Brief History In Time

Luke started playing drums back in 2003 at the age of fifteen. He has a broad taste in music and an interest in playing many different styles, believing that other aspects of music can enhance his approach to Rockabilly and Rock'n'Roll.

His first involvement in the rockin' scene was with The Black Cadillacs in 2005 firing his passion for the 50's sound.

In 2007 he moved to London to do his music diploma and studied all styles of music, also learning about music theory, sight reading, recording and studying keyboards as his second instrument. He says that "this was the time that I really started to mature as a musician, realising that playing overly technical parts isn't necessarily the best musical choice".

2008 saw the start of his time in Fast Eddie and The Jive Machine with his dad Allan on guitar. Touring extensively on the Rock 'n' Roll circuit until 2011, this gave Luke a great grounding to life on the road. He continued playing in various covers and function bands but his love for Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll was never very far away.

2013 saw Luke become the full time drummer of RWTD replacing Chip Robinson. He has since gone on to be a major part of RWTD and an integral part of the bands sound.
